Join me for a couple of hours around the kitchen table...
These meetings are a chance to join like-minded people who are able to support and challenge each of us on our coaching journey.
The objective in TheKitchenTable.Co is to “define the life change that will make a dramatic difference to our life, work or relationships”.
The whole idea is to talk it all through, help each of the Guests uncover their “What’s Next?” and say “My New Life starts here!”
TheKitchenTable.Co is a support group dedicated to you, your ideas for business, a new career and work life balance.
The clear, simple structure of TheKitchenTable.Co is what makes it different from the usual natter over a coffee, and turns it into a constructive, focused discussion that will take your life/work/enterprise forward.
Your Commitment
Time-keeping, commitment and responsibility are the 3 crucial behaviours that have the biggest impact on our development, and TheKitchenTable.co is a great place to practise them. So once you indicate you’d like to attend, you are committing yourself to paying the very small fee and attending. Notice what interferes with your intention to keep your commitments, because that is your “What’s Next?” to sort out; it’s what’s in front of you right now, and you will need to take responsibility and decide whether to drop it or dedicate your life to it.
Arrive 5 minutes before the agreed start time, with some idea what you want from your 5 – 10 minutes Personal Time; we will not wait for you or give you extra time. Take responsibility for your journey and again notice what interferes with your plan to arrive on time.
Give your total commitment and attention to the other Guests during their Personal Time. Our experience is that your “Aha” moment often, often comes during another Guest’s Personal Time; and supporting others is another great skill to practise.
Around the Kitchen Table follows the following format:
The structure is decided by the Host, but always follows this schema:
- Total Session Time: 30 – 90 minutes
- Introductions: 1 minute each
- Personal Time: 3 – 12 minutes each
- Wrap-Up: 1 – 2 minutes each
Payment
The very small fee is to cover my time in organising TheKitchenTable.co, refreshments and especially the use of my space. Venues commonly charge £50 an hour, often with a minimum of £100 – 200, which is what makes most group events non-viable. This is a great deal lower at £10 per guest, which includes light refreshments
Do’s and Don’t’s
DO pay the nominal fee without being chased; this is the other major cost in events
DO arrive on time and stay for the whole session
DO clearly express what you want from the group that will lead to clarity about “What’s Next?” for you. The initial focus may be Setting Up a Business, but more personal issues will quickly come up; work life balance is 99% personal.
DO help the other Guests answer the Core Question “What’s Next?” and give feedback or ask questions that clarify that
DO listen and give your total attention to the others especially during their Personal Times
DO be ready and open to make a radical shift – change happens in an instant, it’s resistance that takes the time!
DON’T give advice even if people ask for it – they don’t actually want it
DON’T be an expert or guru, even if you are one (but DO offer your services after the event)
DON’T try to solve their problem for them – that’s their job and only their solution will work for them. Your feedback and questions will help them get there though.
DON’T waste time resisting, denying, arguing or explaining why it won’t work; instead say “Thank You. I got it. Any other feedback?”
DON’T insist Guests accept your ideas/feedback
DON’T judge, gossip, whinge, moan and groan about how tough your life is!
DO take responsibility for your own learning.
DON’T wait to be asked back; take responsibility for rebooking and for spreading the word about TheKitchenTable.Co; if you want this facility to continue to be available, it’s up to you!
I only have a limited number of spaces available, so if you want to join in contact me today to find out about dates and availability.
The session costs £10 per guest, which includes light refreshments. I'm sure you'll agree that it would be very difficult to find Coaching at this price!!
I look forward to meeting you
